Prior to this she studied History and American Studies at the University of Sussex, graduating with a 2:1, and completed a foundation year in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy.

This year Megan will be taking on her first Sondheim role as Young Heidi in Wimbledon Light Opera's production of 'Follies'. She will then be reprising the role of Elinor Dashwood in 'Sense & Sensibility: The Musical' at the beautiful Minack Theatre in Cornwall. Written by Neal Hampton and Jeffrey Haddow and performed with Surrey Opera, Megan debuted the part in the UK Premiere of the show last year.

This summer Megan will be joining the company of Opera Holland Park for Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Yeomen of the Guard' in collaboration with Charles Court Opera. This will be Megan's third year singing in the company as a member of their chorus. She has previously appeared in a Double Bill of 'Margot la Rouge' and 'Le Villi' by Delius and Puccini, in which she featured as an eponymous ‘Villi’ dancer, in 'HMS Pinafore' where she was also a backing singer to Little Buttercup (or, 'Buttercuppette), and last year for 'Ruddigore' as the cover for Zorah and as Headless Ghost named Steve.

Megan has lived and sung in London, Glasgow, Brighton and New York. Her past roles include Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Julia (The Grand Duke - Cover) and Kate/Lilli Vanessi (Kiss me, Kate). Over the course of her Masters she performed in scenes programmes as Ilia (Idomeneo), Sophie (Werther), Frasquita (Carmen) and the Lady with the Hand Mirror (Postcard from Morocco). WHile at Sussex Megan took on creative roles, musically directing Cabaret and acting as Vocal Coach and Chorus Master for Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical.

Megan has been studying with John Evans since returning to London. Alongside singing, she is a cellist and plays with Lambeth Orchestra.

"Megan Bowen delivered a beautiful performance ... it was an absolute delight to hear her beautiful voice in One More Kiss. Her voice blended wonderfully with Nicola Wood as Heidi Schiller and together they created a delightful and memorable moment."
